According to Dictionary.com, poetry is "the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts" (Dictionary.com). But I say poetry is musical therapy released by it's author. It must be heard to truly experience the tones that create feelings.
I am currently in the process of publishing my own collection of poetry and I'm excited that elements of my life could be shared and explored creatively.
So remember that whatever you decide to write, read and/or listen too, be sure to have an open heart and mind because then will you truly understand the story that is being expressed within every word.
Poetry can also be expressed through theater by the drama that is performed within the actors’ performances. The actors' are able to create tones, emotions and feelings within the persona they are portraying and in turn you feel and relate.
Paintings and photography also give off rhythm and emotion. They capture life and if you open your heart you can hear the story they tell.
Take this journey with me as I continue to reveal why life and all of it's surroundings are poetry to me.
Poetically Speaking,
T.L. Sellers
